What the tool does, who it is for, and the engineering behind the numbers.
Last updated 11 September 2026
What it does
It sizes a hybrid solar system - inverter, battery and PV array - from three things: the split of your total load, the running time of each load, and the backup time you need.
Who it is for
Any hybrid installation from a 1 kW single-room supply up to a 1 MW commercial or industrial plant, across four site types: home, small office, commercial building and industrial plant. Beyond 1 MW the tool says so plainly rather than quietly producing a number.
Above roughly 300 kW the sizing still stands, but the result is flagged for engineering review - at that size the transformer rating, protection grading and grid-connection study matter as much as the kit list.
How the numbers are reached
Nothing is hidden. Every result page shows the working: connected load, demand factors, the coincidence (diversity) factor applied, worst-case motor starting, the energy that has to leave the battery, depth of discharge, ageing allowance, and which constraint actually drove each piece of equipment.
What comes out
The inverter, battery and array size; ranked equipment combinations from your own catalogue; and a bill of materials - cable, protection, combiner boxes, mounting structure, earthing and accessories - with the quantity of each derived from the sizing rather than typed up by hand.
Four levels of access
- Client - a simple portal: size a system, keep the report.
- Installer / EPC - the complete toolset, plus their own empanelment record.
- Engineer - the complete toolset.
- Administrator - everything, including the engine constants, branding and user accounts.
